“Halfway” (2011) shows the situation after a party in a sports hall, which is testified by paper chains and balloons on the floor. As if for a sequel, some girls are still there, hang out, muse. Obviously, an erotic tension is still in the air and not given up yet - they rather try to awaken it once more. Like a silent agreement, they finally build a cave by using gym mats and boxes and withdraw to this place. They seal the entrance with two upright placed mats, only a slot is left. All this happens without saying a word, just out of themselves and almost like a well practiced ritual that is aware of its imagery. In this cocoon, the child’s body erodes. Inside, the body is protected from the outer world and, at the same time, it is helplessly confronted with the inner processes of transformation.

„Halfway“ (2011) zeigt die Situation nach einer Party in einer Turnhalle. Girlanden und Luftballons auf dem Boden zeugen davon. Wie zu einem Nachspiel halten sich ein paar Mädchen noch dort auf, hängen herum, sinnieren. Eine erotische Spannung ist offenbar übrig geblieben, die sie noch nicht aufgeben, die sie eher wieder aufblühen lassen wollen. Wie in stiller Verabredung aber bauen sie sich schließlich aus den Turnmatten und Sprungkästen eine Höhle, in die sie sich zurückziehen. Deren Eingang verschließen sie mit zwei hochgestellt angelehnten Matten, lassen nur einen Schlitz offen. Das alles geschieht ohne ein Wort, einfach so aus sich selbst heraus und doch fast wie ein eingespieltes Ritual, das sich seiner Metaphorik gewiss ist. In diesem Kokon erodiert der kindliche Körper. Er ist darin gleichzeitig vor der Außenwelt geschützt und den inneren Transformationsprozessen völlig ausgeliefert.
